I despaired at the IRL/CART split. In the end, I think everybody lost, most of all the fans. Considering the world wide fascination with F1, despite the fact that there are only three or four competitive teams year to year, it breaks my heart that US open wheel racing has faded in significance compared to its traditional stature. That said, I love the look of the Revell ChampCar kits. Especially Mr. Montoya's ride: My disappointment that these were issued as curbside kits, by Revell (when was the last time they did that?) was somewhat relieved by the kit quality and the fact that even as curbsides they included very good transaxle, turbo and air box detail. All I had to do was fabricate an engine block. And then I found a very good resource book detailing most of the guts of these cars. As a result: I also added steering: I have plans to build out a Greg Moore car, but now that this era has passed, it is on the back burner. Meanwhile, Pablo, had great promise. I can't help but wonder what he might have been able to accomplish in a unified league. pbh

Great idea and i could not agree more in regards to the split robbed the fans of some great racing, along with decent looking cars unlike the IRL stuff.
