Nice work! The only problem with the Protar kits that I found was the tires. They just plain suck! You did a very nice job with yours.

Great build. Looks like you've done an excellent job on the 126C2 in the background as well.

Thanks for the kind words. The 126 was a bit more of a problem for two reasons. Firstly there wasn't much to work with under the covers and secondly the body simply didn't fit and needed to be glued down to keep it straight. so I concentrated on the details that could be seen from the outside. I always have the same problem with each car. always wanting to detail up and scratchbuild bits takes so long that I have an ever growing pile of cars to build. Seconds to buy, months to build. Another issue is if you put loads of detail into a car you have to have the covers off to show it off and then you loose the lines of the car. So sometimes you have to be a bit more practical. Build what can be seen as good as you can.
as for the tyres I spent quite some time sanding them down for the scrubbed look and looking for pics to get the set number info etc. I toyed with the idea of sanding off the raised Goodyear logo but it painted up ok so I left it. the tyres have the specs details moulded on which responded quite well to dry brushing with some grey acrylics. The sides are covered with satin varnish to seal all the painted detail and help accentuate the difference to the tread.
