With all the grumbling at the British GP this weekend, why doesn't the FIA just tell the teams, starting the next race, the exhaust must exit at the rear of the car and be done with it? If you engine can't handle it... boohoo.
How hard can it be?

In a time of supposed cost cutting ..this weekend cost teams a ton, trying to develope their cars designed to run with it..Oh Well scrap the Ban!!!! Chris

FIA shouldn't be getting into this mid-season. Rules should be established before the season and only changed for safety reasons. The cars have been designed with this system inplace and it seems wrong to try and cut off an advantage one team has made work. I've said it before but if F1 is the pinicle of motor sport it should be embracing ideas not banning them. Or make it a one make series so the cars are all equal. Finally if they are going to ban ideas it should be because they are of no use to the rest of the automotive world. Keep F1 relevant and pushing the boundaries of automotive technology.

And this is why Drag racing is the purest form of motorsports. No blown diffusers, no cars of tommorow, yesterday or today, no turbocharged engines. The engines are the same, the cars are the same, the tires are the same. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
Why the hell can't the FIA. THE AIF or whatever the hell f1 calls itself get it's rules straight? The reason they can't is because of one person and one person only, BERNIE! he wants Sebatien vettel to shatter all the records, win all the races.and he has been a master manipulator ever since he took controlling interest in F1.
F1 used to be something to wake up at 430 am or whatever time it comes where you live to watch. Now it's a joke, a shell of its former self, Sad, very sad

I agree that F1 is not the sport it once was. The reason is money and that leads you to Bernie. I doubt he has much interest in Vettel 'per se' only in keeping the show attractive and money coming in. F1 has become so much about 'the show' that all sorts of rules and systems have been put in place to that end, unfortunately they often detract from the purity of the sport. In fact Sport isn't relavent at all. As I said before, changing rules and banning ideas when someone has an advantage isn't sport. Messing around with qualifying so set up developement of the car is limited isn't sport. You get the idea. Pandering to the television viewing public who are not aware of the history of F1 results in little more than turning F1 into a soap opera. Once it was about who could get his car set up best and who could be bravest through corners like Eau rouge in the rain. While having the best car has always been a bonus it hasn't always been the only way to win. Moss in the Lotus 18 at Monaco comes to mind and I'm sure some of you can add more to the string of examples were the driver not the car has been more important. The reason F1 'sold' was because of Villenueve banging wheels, Mansell toughing it out inches aside of Senna or Hakkinen going the other side of a back marker to overtake Schumacher. Season by season the racing has become less and less like that and more and more about pitstops and tyres that go off after a dozen laps, artifial gimmicks to throw in a chance facter to make the show more interesting. Take the wings off and put the wide track back on and let the guys 'race' again then we'll see who is the best driver and who has the biggest ............ and F1 might be about what happens on the track again then.

Do I like Bernie? NO! But F1 is still the pinnacle of motor racing both technically and in expertise. Does anybody not watch the in-car camera's? Going all-out in the rain/damp Silverstone circuit was a joy to behold yesterday. Meanwhile my second favorite motorsport, Indycar, put on a pathetic display yesterday in Toronto. Boneheaded driving and stewardship made that race almost a joke to view. The only positive thing that came out of that debacle was for the folks who want NASCAR-like drama between teams and drivers.
