I hail from beautiful Muncie, Indiana and have been making and remaking open wheel models since the early 1970's. Partial to the Tamiya 1/20 and 1/12 F1 series but also have a good amount of CART/Indy Car/USAC models. Also like to build the Le Man's style cars when I get the chance. Collect anything Mario Andretti drove and have a sizable collection to date.
I am a high school social studies teacher now for the past 31 years and still love it. Blessed with a fantastic wife of 29 years. Four years ago she was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. Had Chemo that put her in remission for only 6 months and two years ago last May she had a Bone Marrow Transplant. She has had clean check-up's ever since!
Have a daughter who just graduated from college and a son going to swim at Eastern Michigan University starting this fall. Summer is my main model building time but love to wind down in my workshop on a model regardless.
Just recently built the Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 72D that I salvaged from junk on a E-Bay buy. Nothing like using almost 40 year old decals! Model turned out fine despite missing some parts. Awaiting decals to build the Tamiya Lotus 79's. Found this forum on the Indycals site...pretty impressive builders on here to say he least!
