Does any one have good pixs, especially of the back, of the Duke Nalon / Don Lee W154 Mercedes?
Is there a decal sheet available? What is the color of the Don Lee lettering? Any other help would be appreciated.

The Don Lee Mercedes Was #46 in 1947 the car was Mercedes Silver with red # and letters in 1948 Chet Miller was the driver and the # was 31 also red lettering. The Hawk Mercedes Kit is a great starting point, The sides need to be a little bit higher. between the axles. I know of no decals that have been made for this car. Hope This Helps

Give me some time and I'll find what you want. Found some great photos of the car in the garage area with panels off. Ah...perhaps you out bid me, eh? I was going to do the F1 car myself...next time.

Thanks for any help. I keep finding the same 3 or 4 black & white pixs, none from the back.
I bought a glue bomb awhile back and was the only bidder.

Here's a photo from The Iron Duke by George Peters. I stumbled arount too trying to find reference photos. I bought a glue bomb kit. Used a set of Southeastern Finecast wheels, had to make new wheel disks, reset the rear suspension twice and it's still not corrrect. I think the Hawk body seem sectioned from the mold, especially based on the indy photos I found, especially evident in the Duke Nalon book. I opened the hood to fiit the engine and found it was too tall and a little wide, probably out of scale or was such a tight fit in real life that the plastic thickness made the fit impossible. I cut off the bottom of the oil pan and by correcting the body by adding about 1/8 inch between the halves it just fit. One other reference book I had is where I picked up the additonal engine detail but can remember where I found it. Can't say for sure if it's correct, there were a number of engine configurations I found on the internet. Far from a reproduction but considering the work to get it all to fit it was worth it!

There were some really interesting cars at Indy after WWII. Pre-war cars from Europe plus old and new designs from the states: Novi, Blue Crown, Kurtis plus all the homebuilt ones. A vastly different time than today. Some of these are real works of art and true treasures. Good luck. Jim
