Now that was a race! I nearly gave up on it. I'm glad I waited to see the whole thing.

Me, too!! I wasn't happy with Jenson wrecking Lewis but that was a great F1 race. My wife said I should go to the USGP next year, I might buy tickets before she can reconsider!! LOL

I had my DVR set for three hours so the race was just getting started again when it ran out of time. I'll have to finish watching it when it is rerun on Speed Tuesday.

Same thing happened to me Paul. I was away during the day and started watching the race at 9 o'clock at night while I DVR'ed Wind Tunnel. I was bummed when my DVR ran out without seeing the finish. Can't wait to try this again on Tuesday.
How about the McNish crash at Le mans!!! I can't belive that car stay in the course. It could have been shades of 1955.

Now that was an awsome race! The real race started after the restart, and for you guys who unfortunately lost out to the DVR limits we shouldn't spoil the finish for you.
<spoiler alert{sort of}>
It was great to see Michale the Rain Mister do so well, I was rooting for him to get a podium, but alt least he made Webber and Button work for the honor.
All around a marvelous weekend for racing. Le Mans! It had to be the hand of God that reached down and pushed McNish's Audi back over the wall an into the gravel!!! Glad he came out ok. Good race all in all to have the second place car so close at the flag after 24 long hours.
I got caught out at Texas since the TV listings only said it was Qualifying on Sat. night, I did however chatch most of the last race. Boo Hoo Dario, try winning an Indy 500 without rain of a yellow fllag cutting thte race short. Rules are rules. I liked the idea of a lottery for starting positions, mixes things up a bit, and makes the win more represational of overall preformance.
Good to see TK up there too.

The Canadian GP kind of reminded me of Monoco from many years ago where the rain made things so interesting that the winning car was a Prost entry. That isn't to take anything away from what Button did, but it isn't often a car can survive impact with two others, get penalized and end up in the pits 6 times to finally come away with a win after all that. It felt like watching a Readers Digest condensed version of a LeMans 24 hour event as there was about the same level of drama.
As for the Audi crash, man the laws of physics and an act of good kept some photographers from ending up in body bags that day. All those Audi drivers were driving like CRAZY though as I saw some passes executed that were just a bit nuts. At about 1:30AM CT (where I was, it was daylight in France at the time) I caught the final Audi in a nice conga line with three Peugots (one in front on lead lap, one behind a lap down). So2 I see the Peugot behind do a nice pass to unlap himself. A lap later, the Audi uses a GT car in front of the Peugot as a blocker and proceeds to use an apron to execute a NICE pass and put the Peugot a lap down. One lap later, he does something similar to pass the lead Peugot and resume overall race lead. Wow! But with the crash at the beginning of the race, I kind of have to wonder if the Audis were maybe pushing it a bit more than they should have. But, they got the overall win, so I guess that is what counts.
Think of all the crazy photos of that wreck that are going to be appearing in publications for the next month. I am curious to see which photographers began running for their lives and which ones kept shooting right until the very end before bailing!
