Just saw that on Racer.com. I had to check and make sure it wasn't April 1st.
LOVE the AAR connection. Hope it works.

Very interesting, I'd watch to see how it works versus the theoretical performance guesses.

Interesting stuff, if AAR is building it and participating it should have a chance and with Panoz behind it there is a real chance of it making the grid and being competitive. I do have to admit It is Uglier than its Indy counterpart!!! The only thing so far I like about the design is the huge AAR emblem on the nose!!! Chris Ps. Jordan, I understand the trial runs of the Indy version on track were actually quite impressive, Oval and Road course, so therory or not they do have a bit of a performance baseline to start with...

Not sure how it had trial runs as I don't think a real one has yet been built.

I am sorry, they did do on track simulations Texas, Indy and Long Beach as part of the potential development and to prove to narrow front track would work. These were considered to as good as the actual car. Since it is a radical design, many had doubts, but using CFD and simulators those doubts were put to rest. Hey if Nick Wirth can design and develop the Virgin F1 car that way and it does work, only the lack of on track testing, per the FIA, has held it back. John Barnard seems to think it will be successful and I dont think Gurney would be involved if it wasnt going to work... Chris

I believe technically the principles will work. I don't have any issues seeing it run as a sportscar. It actually looks better in the current design (although still borderline ugly). It just did not look Indycar-ish at all and was not appealing to me in that arena.

I still think the front wheels are way to close together. (front track 23.5in!!) I must have missed this earier, but they state "unstressed engine and transmission"? Shades of the 50's...
I wish them good luck though.
