Hey Everyone,
First let me say that I am honored that Mike put his trust in me to be the new administrator here. From everything I've seen as a member, this is the best board I've ever dealt with. Most of the forums I post on are from my other big passion, ice hockey. Those forums get nasty with people verbally attacking each other, calling each other names and some people making bad posts just to attract attention.
I've always said that a good referee is one that is not noticed during a game. I'm hoping that it will continue to work that way here. If everyone stays civil and works together, Mike won't really need me. That would be the best case scenario.
What I would like to see is that everyone who comes here reaches their potential as a builder, collector and Open Wheel Race fan. Hopefully they find what they need in regards to parts, kits, reference photos and anything else. There is one idea that I have in regards to decals and I'll run it by a couple of guys to see what they think. Again, it goes back to all of us working together.
Please take advantage of the guys who offer after-market kits, decals, and anything else you need. They are the people who help drive the ideas here and they also keep interest high from a building and collecting standpoint. Personally, I've dealt with Mike Portaro (Indycals) just a couple of times and it was great getting answers in a speedy fashion.
Finally, I want to wish Mike a speedy recovery. Without ever having met him, I can tell how passionate he is about Open Wheel Racing model building and this forum. It sucks that bad things happen to good people but I'm praying that brighter days are in his immediate future.
If any of you have suggestions, please drop me a PM. I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP.
