Yes, another one...This time it's the SE Finecast or Will's Finecast. Well, I left on the desk and picked it up, too! from that to this... images57.fotki.com/v283/photos/2/1465922/9735401/DSCF7855-vi.jpg[/img]http://images54.fotki.com/v1591/photos/2/1465922/9735401/DSCF7857-vi.jpg[/img] The front suspension was damaged so I've fiddling with it, but rear is finished. Next time... Patrick

Very nice Patrick. What old Ferraris are to you, old Loti are to me. Jimmy Clark was the all time master in my book.

Patrick, I am just in awe of you! Not only pumping the projects out like a factory, but your craftsmanship is terrific, too.
Thank you for all of the inspiration you provide to us lesser mortals!

Kent, The roundials are from VRM Decals. The number circles sheet has small sized ones because I asked Steve to add them. His decals are quality. Problem is small numbers for them. Any ideas? Patrick www.v-r-m.com/decals/decals.htm

Thanks Patrick. As you may know I'm building the same kit but early 1962 with rear tranmission cover. You may try dry transfers for numbers. Thanks for the tip. You had said before you cut yours from white decal paper. Where would you suggest buying very opaque white decal paper to cut out and use over BRG? Looks like your roundials did the trick. Looks like you cut the top portion from the bottom. Little more work but easier to get to the cockpit and engine bay. I used solder like that Japanese guy and tied top and bottom together. It will be interesting to see how you include engine details. Thanks again. Really like what you do! Kent

Sweet build on an historically important car. Not to mention beautiful car. That last pic looks like a shot of a race car restoration shop.

Patrick, you say small numbers for small roundials. What diameter are they?

Some time ago in a flight of fancy I bought this kit and since then I'm pondering what guise of R1 to build. During practise at Spa the gearbox got too hot, so the tail cowling was abandoned and never came back. So this leaves me only with Zandvoort or Monaco, both DNF, as I shy the complications of building a diff and ZF gearbox. The kit contained 3 front wheels and only 1 rear! For tires I hope to use Academy's 250LM's. But my greatest problem is the tiny "Lotus Coventry Climax" inscription in front of the Lotus badge. Never started building ... I suppose you are going for Aintree? Always looking for your very special builds! Martin

The Coventry-Climax script would be a fine touch indeed! I'll measure the roundials as I return on Wed.

Martin hi, I'm building the 1962 Dutch GP Lotus 25 with the gearbox cowling/tail. I'm also building the 1965 Lotus 33 by the same company. You can get some Lotus Coventry Climax decals from Electric Dreams online. They specialize in slot cars but have lots of decals. One I bought was 1/32 sheet I think. The sheet has 2 sizes I think and 3 different colored letters. You can also try Patto's decals. That is online also. It's late, sorry I don't have the complete details.
Kurzheck hi, thanks for listing the diameters on those roundels. Which ones are the white without outer lining? Thanks guys.

The bottom 4 rows have no outline though the image shows a slight darker outline. The top 2 rows have a red outline and below that 2 rows with a black outline.

Kent.
When you're ready post some pix of the 33 as I'd like to see it. Also, has anyone come up with a solution for the windscreen other than the Revell slot body one? I'll need one soon or Jimmy will have to wear some tape in his upper lip!

Patrick, I will as soon as I get through priming it, masking for yellow then painting BRG. Unless you want to see it in the state it is. I pulled some 3M masking off the side and it pull off the white for roundels and the grey primer in 2 big enough spots that it needs to be stripped. What a bummer!

Patrick, that's looking great. I have the 62 BRM kit and wasn't very impressed with it in the box, but I guess with the right builder, they turn out extremely well.

I'll be keeping a close eye on that when you post. I've never tried one of these metal models.

Well, I haven't find the correct size of numbers yet... ...nor have I settled on the windscreen I'll use. Otherwise, it's done until I can finish it up. Patrick

I'm trying to put the finshing touches on the body of a Finecast Lotus 33. Does anyone have left over yellow stripes from the Tamiya Lotus 25 kit? The Finecast stripes are terribly orange not yellow. Can one get the decals from Tamiya? Any other suggestions? Willing to pay. Needs to go the length of the body. After I take care of that I can add all the outer parts. Thanks.
