Simona's going to be okay but this was very scary! Surprised she got airbourne so long into the crash. Jordan

Man that was wild!! Glad she's okay. I wonder if a tire folded up under the chassis and got her airborne? You're right, that seemed an odd moment to lift off.

I've always thought that the wheel tethers were a good idea for fan safety but possibly a bad idea for driver safety. Can't really see what happened but the idea of a tire rolling under the chassis makes sense. Glad she's OK.

The track video from the back seems to show the left rear settling down, digging into the track, and leaving a trail of sparks. That might indicate a suspension break rather than a problem with a tire. Scary none the less. Had some similarity to Conway's crash last year with getting airborne and knocking the nose off. She was fortunate. Jim

I thought something broke, too, but I couldn't say for sure - telemetry should be able to give the answers though.

The official story is that the left rear suspension failed. She has burns on both hands but otherwise OK. Unknown if she will be cleared to drive.

Too scary! From a natural point of view of being a boy I always tense up more when its a girl in a crash.
