V8 Supercar Racing

Ok, I admit that in the past I have had blinders on when it come to racing. I watch Indycar & F1 mostly and don't really care for NASCAR although I enjoy the NASCAR roadraces.

Last weekend I was flipping around the channels and started watching a V8 Supercar race. With-in a few laps there was no getting me off the couch. It was a wet race which made it all the more exciting but I was thinking how cool it would be to do a model of one of these cars. After a search I only came up with some diecasts but no kits.

I guess the racng is mostly in Austraila. Does anyone else here follow it?

I've watched a little of it and it's really good racing, and the cars are beautiful!

The V8's are fantastic!

Two companies (Biante and Classic Carlectables) are responsible for producing 1/43 and 1/18 die-casts of most of the grid each year, but to my knowledge there are not really any kits produced.

I know that a lot of conversions go on with the die-casts though. The Biante forum has pages upon pages of conversions in the "Code 3" thread:

I've followed the series for years. The 1000 km endurance race at Bathurst is a must see. I have also searched in vain for kits of the cars.
