Starting with the Lance Sellers/Etzel Watson, what do I need to build the 1958 Race of Two Worlds winner? I'm thinking that the Lance Sellers 1958 transkit will be required and the Indycals 1958 front row decals will be useful.

Carousel 1 did that car in 1/18, so that might be a good reference.

I feel using the research I do on line is far superior to using photos of a restored car or a model. But, then, when there is little or no info, then I would use the other two as a guide. Just some thoughts and no criticism intended.

No question about it, just a suggestion for starting point. I completely agree.

In the photos that I have seen, the tire tread pattern is quite different on the Monza cars compared to the Indy style. Take Care Craig

Here's Harry Schell's Ferrari at this race. His Firestones are different than the Engleberts used in GP racing. Here is the Dean's Van Lines with JM Fangio up... nice roll cage in this car! Patrick

Sounds like you have the right idea. Maybe some of the Cady Watson decals can provide the Leader Card, not sure where to find a large USAC logo though. The tire tread looks more like the period NASCAR Firestones than the Indy tread. These are all I have on my hard drive... Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki
