Just got the Feb/March 2011 Issue 157 of Model Cars magazine that covers the 2010 contests. Lo and behold on p 8 are a couple of photos of Art's open wheel models from the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, CA. Over a year "late" but good models are always easy on the eyes.

elruddick, Thanks for the callout! I also have a bus on p. 38 taken at Chris' NNL last year. And I wasn't the only OW'er. Russ has three pics from the NNL on pages, 36, 37, and 39. Billgtp has a nice Etzel on page 55. Lance has a beautiful Novi as well on page 32. Congrats to all you guys, hope I didn't miss anyone. Nice first post, BTW! (I swear it's not me! ) -Art

9 days until the 2011 So Cal NNL and MCM will be there to cover it again, with this years theme being Indy Cars, a Beautiful trophy from Dan Gurney and AAR I am sure there will be a big turnout of Indy models. I will try and take pics of the entries. Although a bit late it's nice to see OWRM members cars in the magazine. I am sure there will be even more in next years issues. I have been swamped with calls, mail and more for the show, Roy Sorensen and Model Car Builder magazine has added sponsorship, the International Model Car museum has sent some prizes, Mercedes confirmed a real car to be on display outside and more. I hadn't anticipated such a big push with so little time left but the show is growing daily. We anticipate about 3,000 spectators this year to boot!! I hope to see some of you there, and the guys going to GSL " Good Luck" Chris

I will vouch for the fact that I am NOT Art and he did not pay me to post! Sorry I missed the bus (pun intended). I did see Russ's models but somehow skipped mentioning the photos since I assumed everyone knew he was the real person. LOL! I was not aware Billgtp and Bill Snyder are one in the same and an OW'er. I have been a lurker for a long time but just could not resist the first post. I have many other model car and model railroad friends who often miss seeing their work in print or on the web so I try to keep them up to date when I spot something. Sometimes it is difficult to tell who is who when you are not aware of the real name of a person's screen names or names. Guess that is the "anonymous" nature of the web. I may make it to the SoCal NNL on Sunday. If so, look for a 5'6", 68 year old, thin, white haired, clean shaven, round faced "kid". 50-50 chance as I have an all day model railroad show on Saturday in Alhambra from 6 AM (!) until 4 PM. Lindley,
It's taken me a while to respond as I have been busy getting ready for the GSL, which is where I am now, but I wanted to thank you for the post and your consideration of letting me know about the magazine.
Unfortunately, because I am out in Salt Lake this weekend, I won't be making it to the SoCal NNL this weekend. I'm disappointed that they fell on the same date as I really would have liked to have been there again this year, but I also know that Chris had no choice on the date. It's just one of those deals...
I would encourage anyone who can go to go, and for those that do, have fun! I'll definitely be there next year.
