Well, it would be putting it nicely to only say that these Monogram kits were not a high water mark for IndyCar modeling. Anyone who's worked on these know you put a lot of effort into getting this nice looking car. You showed very nice detail work - transmission and A/N fittings. Good job!
From your bench, it looks like you have some better kits in your near future so hopefully it helps putting this one in the rear view!

Good job. I have never even tried to build one of the Monogram kit I just use them for parts! You should be proud.

I think I've started 3 or 4 of the Mongram Indy kits, never got very far with any of them! Thanks for posting proof that they CAN be built and look decent. I guess I'll have to dig one out one of these days and just go at it with a better attitude and accept it for what it is (& isn't)!

I don't know about your self assessment. That car looks real good and the detail is excellent. The Monogram kits were a bit tougher than AMT, so kudos to you. I built the Raynor car, and the wheels kept falling off no matter what I did with them. Difficult on the psyche.
What shade of green did you use?

Yeah, I guess it's all relative. This is a lot better than the ones I built years ago, but I've had a couple lately that I thought turned out well, and this one just wasn't quite as good. It's probably a case of I know what's wrong with it, but the casual observer probably will never notice! As for the color, I used Model Car World lacquer Quaker State green. It looks spot on to my eye.
