It seems the series takes two steps forward and one step back, or even the opposite sometimes. And then we have the spector of Tony George hovering over everything again. It's almost like watching someone you love battle a disease year after year. And to think the disease started at 16th and Georgetown makes it even worse. It's all so sad.

I really don't understand why these 3 other businessman were given board seats when they are not even shareholders. If they are Tony's friends, now Tony could have a controlling majority. Now, it might make sense to bring them as advisory directors but full voting directors, I just don't understand.
I also heard the Randy wanted to take Tony to lunch but refused. I'm under the impression that Tony won't even talk to Randy. Not a good situation, if in fact true.
Also, I wonder how many manufacturers and sponsors are now sitting on the fence to see what impact Tony is going to have. Even if Tony doesn't do anything negative, the mere possibility that he could makes Randy's job harder.

Tony actually spoke in favor of Randy at an owner's meeting at one of the races. Chicagoland I believe. So I wouldn't put much faith in someone telling you he refused to have lunch with Randy. Be careful who you listen to.

Randy is obviously pretty savvy about this stuff. We need to see pictures with Randy and Tony playing golf, drinking beer, etc. Additional public statements from Tony are needed. To me, silence says a lot, and it means that Tony either a) doesn't care b) doesn't like Randy c) isn't very smart or d) some combination of "a", "b" or "c".

Not sure we need to see that. We don't see the sisters or Mari hanging out with Randy. Tony has business interests he is tending too as well as spending time with his family.

Possibility that Tony is back to mend fences? I kind of figured that Firestone bailing wasn't exactly a good thing.

I half way expected this with Bridgestone (Firestone's parent company) pulling out of F1 last year.
