I was wondering if anyone had any information on a resin business Open Wheel Replicas? This cottage company from Decator, Il. had a couple of resin Champ cars that were available around 1999 and produced the Swift 007i and Swift 009i from the 1997 and 1998 Champ car seasons respectively. I was also wondering if they made any other Champ cars or Indy cars besides those two?

Never heard of them, but it sounds like they were doing some cool projects. To bad it seems they've gone away.

Here's some pictures of one of the kits. It is the Swift 009i from the 1998 season. This is the box the kit came in. This is the kit. All of the accessories are still neatly packed. The suspension is white metal and resin. Included is resin tires, seat, under-tray, transmission and assorted parts. I know they also made the Swift 007i from the 1997 season. From reading the box, it seems only 15 of each kit was made. I'm trying to find out whatever happened to the company and the molds. Also, if they ever made any other kits. I wish I would've bought more at the time. Jim

Unless they charged super big bucks for each kit, I don't see how they could survive making 15 kits. That kit and box art is very impressive. Take Care Craig

I have a copy of the 1997 Swift 007i. The box top says its "kit #006 of 15 models"

Looks like really nice stuff, but I agree with Craig about the pricing and the chance for survival. It would be cool to get their stuff back on the market somehow.

It was a long time ago but I think I payed about $80 for this kit. If I remember correctly, Mike of Indycals connected me with a guy in Chicago that had one for sale. I have never seen anything about other kits by OWR.

Thanks for the info Bill! As the fog clears from my brain, I believe you told me that many years ago. With age, I had forgotten about it. These are really nice kits. Was there any others done or just the two Swifts, the 007 and 009? Thanks, Jim
