I've always wondered if there was a 66 winner kit anywhere in the cosmos. It seems an almost obvious omission as there is a kit of every other winner from that decade.

There was a 1/24 slot car body kit by the Japanese company LS. It was very much like the Revell/Monogram/Cox/Aurora/AMT slot car body kits in that it could be made into a crude static model. I had on once, a long time ago before my skills were up to par and I let it go, sure wish I still had it now! The body itself was pretty decent. VERY hard to find. (Pokes Lance)

Lance should be pretty well bruised up by now with all the pokes we've been throwing at him.

I have an old magazine article from a guy that took the old IMC/Testors 65 winner and after a few modifications, made Graham Hill's 66 Red Ball Express out of it. A good job too, If you want a copy, just let me know.
Best to you

I don't know of a 1/25 but I seem to remember there is occasionally a larger scale (1/16) car available on eBay every so often.

Thanks, Jordan! I completely forgot about those kits. They are from the Bandai/UPC/AHM lineage, typical Japanese kits, crappy decals, decent bodies, horrible tires, crude suspensions, & motorized, oh joy! There were at least three, I had them all at one time. A '66 Lotus in STP colors, a Brawner/Hawk Dean Van Lines car that I kept until Lance came thru, & a Lola in Jackie Stewart livery. When 2lapsdown asked his question I immediately thought of Cady's decals and got stuck in 1/24-25! As far as "poking" Lance goes, it was witha paddd stick as I know he's got a lot of things in the fire. I just can't think of a more important "missing link" in the Indy line, a "rookie" winner & no decent model of it.

Actually Russ I wondered if that Lotus couldn't be transformed into a Lola without to much trouble. I'd love a copy of the article. Now . . . about the decals for this car.

I remember that article, too, and the builder did do a fine job. Would it be too much to ask for a copy of the article? G. Hill did the trick...a GP invasion of Indy!
