Just saw a news article saying Sam Hornish will run eleven NASCAR Nationwide races this year. Apparently there is no sponsorship for his Cup ride and his points have been transferred. Wonder if this means we'll see Sam at Indy this year in a one-off deal with Penske. Interesting idea.
Thanks, Gary

I wish I could say I care, but Sam burned his Indy bridges with me.

I agree, Sam please stay away from the 500.

Regardless I think we will see Sam at Indy - all living drivers are invited back for a massive autograph session. I think extra effort will be expended to get the winners.

Any details on the autograph session?
Robin Miller did an article a few years ago listing the top ten things you should do the mouth of May. Does anyone know where I could find that. Or maybe we should start our own list? Feel Free to add to the list of your favorite things to do the month of May.

Not that I think it impossible, but unless there is some real marketing value behind it, I don't think Penske will just put him in a fourth car. Could Sam put a deal together with another team and Penske have his hand in it, that is a possibility, but I believe Sam will have to do most of the work.
I always look at the many other deserving drivers that are sitting on the sidelines, while othere less capable drivers are out there. Then I realise that "deserve has nothing to do with it." (from a scene in Unforgiven.) It's how much you can bring to the table.

Roger has stated that he will put Sam in a car for the 500 if there is nothing else going for Sam. Now whether the Nationwide deal precludes that, I don't know.

If Sam had any viable sponsor opportunities, Penske would be excercising them right in NASCAR now. Don't forget that he has not been in an Indycar in three years. For his sake, I hope he does not come back.

I always enjoyed watching Sam win his first Indycar championship in 2001 in the Pennzoil Olds and battling with team Penske in 2002.
If he comes back, Im OK with it....no big deal.

I don't have a problem with Sam either. It would be nice to have another American back in Indy car racing. It's just that you need to have sponsorship to race and if Sam is having a problem in Sprint cup racing, how's he going to come up with money in Indy car?
