OK, again sorry for the photos but here goes. Russ Bundy and I are in the process of offering some parts to convert the AMT Watson Roadster. This is similar to Lance's 1963 update and 1964 Conversion. This set will allow you to back date the roadster to the 1959-60, and 62 Watson or the 1961 Trevis copy. Russ mastered these parts and I am casting them. This is my first attempt at mass producing part and they are like quality to Bill Jorgensen’s. What we have at this time are Watson wheel and tire sets. A choice of noses for either the Watson or Trevis. A new engine cover, a new cockpit top, a correct oil tank, and various scoops and “bumps”. I just sent the first cast to Russ for a critique today so as soon as I hear from him we will make them available here and on EBay. Coming soon will be a set of Watson wheels and tires separated for ease of painting. These are being made from Chris Etzel’s “test pops” for which I have Chris’ permission to reproduce. Also, Russ and I are working on a modified Etzel Offy. I’m in the process of acquiring a vacuum chamber to “degas” the rubber and resin and a pressure pot to cast resin in so these will get nothing but better.

I have been casting for many years. I don't think you need a vaccum chamber. I have used a pressure paint pot that a purchased from Menard's many years ago. I have found it easier to pressurize the pot to 40 lbs as opposed to vaccuum/suction. 40lbs of pressure is plenty to 'squeeze' the air bubble out of the silicone molds as well as the castings. It basically squishes any air bubbles to microscopic size and a well thought out mold will have no air bubbles.
Devcon makes a product that you can use for casting tires that is somewhat flexible(it is used for repairing conveyor belts) and can black pigment can be add to it,I have used this product on some very top line models and the tires look great and you don' have to paint them. It make the casting more expensive but I think it is worth it.

Thanks, Dave. I need a couple noses, hoods and oil tanks! Especially the oil tanks........ I have redone the hood and nose for the '61 Simoniz Spl., but the oil tak I haven't started, plus I have to put a small blister on the hood. And I will need them all for the '61 Super Tex winner.
It would be nice if you put together *Conversion Kits* for the early Watson winners, similar to what Lance is doing for the '63-'64 winners.
