Folks,
By way of introduction, I'm a long-time builder (not building so often anymore), and a continuing kit collector. (Aren't we all?)
I've been building for decades and am one of the builders in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Hall of Fame Indy 500 winners model display.
Another model builder and I were the first two modelers to prepare a display for the IMS Hall of Fame 20 years ago. The topic was Indy 500 pace cars.
Most of the guys who have been cottage kit makers over the years remain friends, though I hear there are occasional fireworks here between guys I've known for decades. I probably know a number of you guys pretty well.
I've no special claim to fame. Just an occasional modeler of Indy cars, pace cars and Le Mans winners. And I collect cars; I own five Indy pace cars at the moment - three replicas (1953, 1969 and 1984) and two actual pace cars (1957 and 2003).
The 1/25th scale stuff is easier to display.
Obeying the Len Sutton Rule from the Yahoo Racing History group, I sign off as,
