I decided, while Ms.Vaughn's top is drying, to put out a "teaser" and make sure someone actually noticed the car... Parnelli won races with this car in '64 and '65, including the Milwaukee race the week after Indy... Trevor: No it's not Tamiya gold. I used all enamels on the build;Valspar & Testor's. I usually use Tamiya lacquer but am having trouble finding colors I need. Thanks for looking; Linda should be photo ready today... Tim

Nice build. You've done a great job adding on all the little bits not on a box stock Lotus.

Computer has been "sick" for 3 weeks. I've been promising this so, here goes... Miss Hurst Shifter, LINDA VAUGHN showed up to promote the Hurst Special at Indy in 1965... She has been changed...by her big hair...

True story. Back in the day, my Uncle Bob (Sowle) was the engine builder for Rolla Vollstedt and had a long history at Indy going back to 1938. In addition, he was a mechanic on George Amick's 1958 runner up and the Chief Mechanic for Len Sutton and later Johnny Rutherford in 1963, his rookie year. When Linda was first around Indy, she came by the garage and was shown off to the boys. Since the garage doors were closed, Uncle Bob, never known for his shyness, walked up to Linda and asked, "Is that all you baby?" Without hesitating, Linda fished them out and Bob was permitted to examine them thoroughly. ;D They were good friends since that day. This year at the Old Timers banquet, Uncle Bob, now 92, greeted Linda, who looked at him and said, "Bob, it's still all me!"

If that is an accurate representation, I think she should be waering some sort of back brace. They must be awfully heavy. In fact, kind of reminds me of my ex-wife. She would whip 'em out for inspection after a few drinks, a popular party piece. Current wife (of 20 years) is a bit more modest lol. Oh, by the way, the car is superb as well..... Nice conversion work - on both models! Regards, Steve.
