This one's been going on for quite a while. I started the Best kit about 3 years ago. Stopped;started;stopped. Then "Cobra276" got me motivated again. I never liked the scale of this kit,so I decided to do it as close to 1/25th as possible. Some of the parts are approximately the right size; others way off. I widened the hood, added to the body in front of the cockpit, widened the car, replaced the seats, lengenthed the tail and replaced the engine. Since there are no Bob Clidinst drawings, I used the other 30's cars for wheelbase, dimensions, etc. We call that the SWAG Method (Scientific wild-(expletive deleted) guess) here in Texas. The colors are cream and red, as all Gilmore cars were(thanks Russ!)I also found a picture of the car after the race, so I had to add windscreens... Sorry for the crummy pictures; I need to work on my photography skills.. A fun build, even if it was a long one... The windscreens were especially tough... Thanks for the inspiration... Tim

Great Job and nice detail! IMO if the model looks like the real car then you did a really good job.

This car may have fought you though out entire build, but you didn't give up. Defintely worth the effort and time you put into this car. Well done!!

Excellent, nothing like winning a fight....wouldn't be as satisfying if every kit fell into place!
