Hello all, Just took delivery of the '54,'56,'57 National Champion Kuzma-Offy kit I had to pay out the nose for on evilbay...What a crazy nice collection of parts here. Bought it mainly for the engine as I had heard how particularly sweet it in itself is. Very TRUE. I intend to learn to resin/white metal cast so I can reproduce these OOP Offenhauser replicas for my personal use in other modeling projects. Credit is given in the instructions to Bob Clidinst and our own Russ Bundy, among others...Every piece so finely detailed on a kit others do not offer! What a SHAME he no longer produces resin kits...

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did some early pre-sale work for Chris in some of the Hobby Shops here in Southern California. His kits quickly became the very best of the home cottage industry and are still, some of the best resin kits I have ever seen cast. His Watson Roadster is awesome!
This is way I told all of you and will tell all of you again. better get what you want from Lance Sellers and Bill Jorgensen now, don't wait. You'll never know when they decide to stop. I'm sending out an order for one of Lance's conversion kits very, very soon! I have tried many times to contact Chris and know of a few people that would like to reproduce his work. Even Bob Clindinst hasn't spoken to him in 3 years. Well.......so it goes, best of luck to him anyway in whatever he does.
I agree with you 100%! His kits are now really classics! So, and I'm sure will Lance's and Bill's. I'm almost done with Lance's Novi! What a beauty!
Best to you
Russ

I just picked up a Duesenberg from the same "source" and it was EXPENSIVE! But, I am just happy to have it. If Chris were to start selling kits again tomorrow, I still wouldn't be too upset about what I paid as it would be one less I would need to build all the versions possible - LOL! Bill, he also produced that Offy as an engine-only kit, definitely some of the best engineered castings I've ever seen!

I recently bought some decals from Chris, again on ebay...I wrote him through their system and asked if he had any kits or parts of kits available. I had heard somewhere that he was into music now, guitars particularly. I informed him that I live in Meridian, MS which is the home of Peavey Amps and Guitars...I offered to help him obtain some of their equipment if he desired. He replied to me! He said all he had left were a kit of each that he intended to keep for posterity...nothing else complete at all...Not much else info however...
Anyway, it boggles the mind to see what these resin artisans (read Jorgensen and Sellers) can create from nothing in miniature scale!

Put in the first half hearted bid ;D $35 shipping made me gun shy - lol Anyway, I'm disappointed that he quit before I could get the '98-2000 winners. I'd REALLY like to at least get a '98 for the HoF display as I was there that day. I don't blame Chris for moving on when his interests shifted but I'm disappointed that he won't let someone take over his molds. Jordan

Jordan I'd be willing to put in another $35 if I could have the Aerosmith decals. My wife is a big Aerosmith fan and I'd like to have the decal set so I could build the car for her birthday. I'd probably have to hack apart a 2001 car to do it.

It's over $150 now and still not met reserve - I don't think I'll be bidding again on this one. It's hard applying sanity to our hobby sometimes... at least for me ;D but $200+ is way too much for that car for me. Hope whomever wins it, loves it!

Jordan Sounds like the guy is trying to make enough on the sale of this kit to buy a couple tanks of gas for the family car ;D I don't blame you for bailing out of this auction. Russ
