I'm another one who found the pointer on Randy's board. My primary modeling interest seems to have settled in 1/700 scale ships over the last 25-30 years, but I loved the racing cars in Road & Track and Car & Driver magazines in the late 1960's and early 1970's. That meant the few Heller F1 kits, some Ford GTs, a few Can Ams, and a very few Indy 500 kits. And front engine dragsters, too, but that's another different board altogether.
My favorite was the Eagle V12 F1, but they never made a kit of that, only the Indy car.
So you can imagine I was pretty excited when I moved into a new house and found a retired CanAm driver living across the street. (Don Jensen, who drove one of the Burnetts.) And he knows Pete Lovely, who drove and eventually bought one of the original Lotus 49s. Our block Christmas parties are fun for getting Don started telling stories about the old days.
If I can ever get the ships off my workbench, my next project will be to finish a Heller McLaren M7B, one with a $4.00 price tag on the box, and probably started when the box was new.
In the meantime, my seven year old son and I worked on a Star Wars snap together model today, and I think I got the better end of it as a Father's Day deal. Rick Heinbaugh

Welcome to the board, Rick! I can't believe the knowledge and help that is here. I am really getting an education on these cars.
