In September at a model swap meet, in a bag under a table, I found a '68 Mclaren M7bV8. (It was with two early AMT Indy cars) It is 1/25 scale. I'd like to know who the manufactured it and anything else anybody might know about said kit.
Thanks, Peteyd

First guess would be McLaren M7B (Ford-Cosworth V8 powered of course) with high wing, scale 1:24, manufacturer Heller (orange plastic) or as a repop Union (white plastic). Bruce McLaren´s personal F 1 car at the beginning of 1969, GP SA and a non-championship english F 1 race. Afterwards sold to Colin Crabbe´s Antique Automobile Racing for Vic Elford to drive, written off at GP Germany same year. Easily recognised by broad sidetanks, unique to this car, # M7A-3, a rebuild of this 1968 car.
Greetings from Vienna, Martin

Martin, you take the words from my mouth. Probably Heller, sometimes this kit is for sale on ebay at resonable cost. I have the Lotus 49 and Brabham BT 33, Patrick is building a nice version of this car, the McLaren F5000. Cheers. Alex

Martin,
You nailed it! It's the orange one just as you described it. Thanks so much.

The car needs rebuilt, no doubt. I'll figure out how to post pictures and will be open to any and all suggestions.

You guys are giving me an inferiority complex! I hope I can get somewhat close to that kind of quality if and when I get to a re-do.

Pete, I've seen your work, you're not giving yourself enough credit. I'm sure yours will be a beautiful finished product.

This looks great, keep up the good work!
I'd love to get one of these kits cheap - I have a good scratch building idea for one!
