Well, I'm going to high jack this thread with a WIP on the LS Honda. For some time I have hoarded a Hasegawa Honda RA272E just for this type of project. Trevor sent me the LS kit because that's the kind of kindness the people in this group are like. Most of you know I am a die hard Golden Era F1 fan (the new cars put me to sleep) and the 1.5 liter years are what I'm interested in most. So...off we go... this is the LS body next to the Hasegawa body. Next... ...chop off the diaplanes off of the nose... ...cut out the driver (sorry Ronnie) and glue the nose and rear sections while I prepare the RA272 interior for a fit... ...fit and glue the RA272's front bulkhead (a perfect fit I might add!) and see how the front suspension fits... ...the oil tank fits smartly into the nose. Trevor, this is going together smoothly! Thank you for your kindness. The resin Cox tires are great with the IMC Lotus' Dunlop front wheels. Now...after taking a break from building, as I have, some of my bottled paints are dried closed! Off to the hobby shop to buy new paint. Next step...soon.

You might be a loser if you've checked this thread a dozen times today to see if Patrick has posted an update. ;D

Well, I'm still at it and am advancing on the Honda. No camera yet, but I've got the body painted and some decals( Lordy, I do love putting on the decals!). I'll post some photos before it's done. The carb vents came out well. Soon I will have all the 1964 F1 GP cars.

I'm glad you've put that LS Honda to good use. What are you missing from the 1964 grid?

For the 1964 grid I now have:
Brabham BT11-Coventry-Climax
BRM P261 (early car)
BRM P261 (late car)
Cooper T72 Coventry-Climax
Ferrari Typo156 (SEFAC)
Ferrari Typo156 (NART)
BRP-BRM Mk2
BRM P57/64
Honda RA271
All are finished except for the RA271. Anything I missed? Oh, yes those pesky Loti. I'm working on the Mk25, but it is a '63 car. Now if I could find a Mk33! Ooh Ha!
Patrick
PS- Photos soon.

Patrick, you have taken another toy like car and turned it into a pretty good replica. Nice work.

ARRGH! I didn't see that the xacto knife was scraping into the trans cover as I was making the exhaust slot a bit larger. Mask and paint time. Patrick

My sincerest apologies...yes I did. I quickly attached the rears and proceeded to get ready for the fronts...DAMN! The ride height is too high! So I've got to carefully take the nose off, relocate the front suspension, and glue it all back together. Weekend work to be sure! It is scheduled to be back together for Sunday's forum. Let us pray!
