Hello to everyone! I've been visiting the board for quite some time now and finally decided that it was time to actually join in. I have to admit that I'm very humbled by the obvious knowledge and skill that is demonstrated here. I should've known that Mongo wouldn't be hanging out here if that weren't the case!
I began modeling in the mid-60's when I was but a young lad, and have continued the hobby, at times sporadically, throughout the years. Mainly building autos and aircraft in general, there haven't been many open-wheelers along the way. Back in the day I recall building the #70 Lotus turbine and the Rislone Eagle from 1968, and I seem to recall a sprint car somewhere along the line but that's about it. Wishing now that I had purchased and stashed away some of the Indy kits back then, because the current availability of plastic kits is disappointing (for pre-1980).
I'm looking forward to extending my learning curve and picking a few brains, but I learned early on that a person learns more by listening than by talking. So I think I'll go listen a bit....

Welcome aboard! It's nice to have a stash of kits, but the chase of finding that rare one is half the fun, the other half is building it when you get it! Especially if you have half the nerve to build it after paying all that money!
