I am converting a Norm Hall Watson Roadster into Parnelli Jones 64 ride. Have to add the nose scoop and fender flares, modify the hoods and cockpit a bit as well. More to come. What a great idea for a conversion! This is looking really good, can't wait to see it finished.

Looking great Stu! I just noticed this after looking at your photo. The car did not carry an external oil tank for the '64 race?

Correct Paul. It also didn't run with the moon covers over the wheels so I won't be duplicating them as I want to do the race day version.

Bet it didn't have an external oil tank because "Aggie" didn't want it seen leaking oil again! ;D Sorry, I was a big Jimmy Clark fan in those days. Paul Erlendson

Here is some progress on the build. Photos don't really show it but the white paint is actually Tamiya Pearl White. Getting there... Stu [img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/sbenford/P11.jpg" img] [img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/sbenford/P10.jpg" img]

Damn Stu!!!
Looks great! Worthy of blowing up on Parnelli! He still has his drivers suit from that race too!
Keep up the great work!

Still working on the exhaust and a few small touch-ups. Hope to have it done later this week. Stu [img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/sbenford/P13.jpg" img] [img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/sbenford/P12.jpg" img]

Thanks Guys. It's coming along. The exhaust is now done but I decided to add a driver figure. The body is a Bill Jorgensen Sprint Car body he made to fit GMP Sprint cars. I had to modify it somewhat to fit the Watson seat and PJ's waving right arm is made out of clay. Hands are from the Tamiya Lola T-160 figure as well (slightly modified) as is the open faced helmet. I cut the helmet bill out of sheet plastic and glued it to the helmet. Still have some clean up on the arm and paint of course but I am really digging it so far. All Done! Special thanks to Michael for providing me with the #98 decals. Scallops on the sides on the car and hoods are from his 61 Foyt decals slightly modified with a gold stripe. BOWES Seal Fast Logo was modified as well. Driver figure body is from Bill Jorgensen.
