WIP 85 Sullivan

Here are the WIP pics for my 85 Sullivan. I ground off the bulges @ the suspension points so I used Squadron Putty here with thin styrene inside the nose area. This area had to be thin so Green Putty would have been to delicate to work with. Other areas where I used Green Putty was supported by either metal or styrene. I learned something the hard way about Green Putty. Wait several days before you prime or paint over putty, it will shrink so later the painted area will concave.

What a difficult medium to make such drastic changes! This is great stuff!! (Even if you did have to kill a Mears car )

The modifications working with a Lotus 97T were even more radical. I made 3 with that donor, never again. I only did this one for myself. No worries, I have an 84 Mears in my case & have 2 more coming for donors. I missed out on several for $49 each.....ouch!

Here are 2 pics of the 85 with the Lotus donor. I couldn't find or didn't take anymore WIP of this one. You can see how much metal was cut away to be re-fitted with styrene & the nose was broadened with Squadron.
