Nice job on this build. Especially like Emmo's helmet... Tom T.

I always thought that it was a strikingly simple scheme - one of my favs!! Jordan Likewise. I think it was the solid red with all white markings plus the Marlboros. Also I always preferred the BBS wheels vs the OZ. When I started making models I had this car burried in the back of my mind but never could get the markings.

What was used as the donor car? And what paints were used?

Where can I get those decals? From the original post: "Michael was kind enough to do the markings for me" I would assume Indycals has them, whether they are posted on the site, due to his decline to offer the "M" decals.

I have also purchased the decals from Michael as I'm doing the car in 1/25th scale. He does not offer the "M" decals though. You will have to get those from a different source.

I always keep some "M" decals just for this reason.

Nice model indeed. i saw a race picture of that car, very stunning. I am sure it was neat to see in person. I buy M@r1b0r0 decals usually when I see them. Someone is selling generic sheets of them on E-bay for good prices. All sizes and colors.

VERY cool car. can't say I remember that one, so maybe I missed that race.
the red and the #9 remind me of the Roberto Guerrerro STP Lola from a few years prior. I think that was the year he was leading when he hit a tire from someone elses car and it landed in the stands, killing a spectator and eventually putting him out of the race.
love your build....as Emmo would say: "Fantastic!" LOL

As the title says, this is Emmo's 1996 car. When PT came back to Penske for 1996, after one year with Newman-Haas, Emmo went to the Hogan team (was it Hogan-Penske that year?). Not surprisingly they ran the same Penske/Mercedes/Goodyear that Team Penske was running. Emmo ran this same paint all year long, or at least until the Michigan 500. There in turns 1 and 2 on the first lap, Emmo put an awesome around the outside pass on Moore. Greg Moore pushed up (probably aerowash from cars in front) and the #99 caught Emmo's LR tire. Emmo went gearbox first into the wall and broke his back. He'd never race an IndyCar/ChampCar again.
