I know it has been a long time since they were produced but I am hoping someone can lead me to a vintage sprint or midget kit.
Thanks.

Try Model Empire in West Allis, Wisconsin. They always have about 10-12 sprint cars and midgets for sale in the front display case.

Are they generic kits or already detailed cars that I would have to disassemble?

They are generic w/o decals, but have 2 complete sets of mounted tires &wheels, 2 Chassis designs, Ford or Chevy heads, exhausts and valve covers (sprint car) or V-8 & Offy (champ car). 3 hoods, 2 tanks, 2 nerf bars, etc. mostly metal, great chrome, plastic engines..I just sold one of each last week for $50. each & shipping, Sorry Too Late..Did you see the 32 Ford Street Rod kit they just came out with?? Real nice @ $65.....also in 1/18th..Chris

I was referring to the ones on display at the WI store. I really want the midget but will settle for either of the others. Only 2,000 were produced but I rarely see them built or for sale. I'm willing to bet many people started projects and never completed them and they now sit in various states of assembly.

I found a 1/18 sprint kit! There have been four up for auction on two different sites in the past week. They went for $100,$65 and $50. There's still one listed for $74+an absurd s/h charge. I paid $50+s/h :-)

I believe I have both midget and sprint car in unbuilt condition I can check, my stash and find out. Will probably be willing to part with both, looking myself for Williams FW07 and Leyton House Judd. You can send me a message stuart@furymotorcycle.com with any questions
