Helio fined $60,000! Wow! That's pretty steep if you asked me.

Well I'm sure i will get flamed for this but I don't think it's enough
Bad call or not you never ever put you hands on a race official that is wrong and a much worst crime that Barnhart's call
IMHO he should have been suspended for two races and fined at least 100,000
Flame on ;D

All Bonehart has done is to further alienate more fans. Did Helio clock anyone? No. Did he get somewhat nuts? Yes. Should this have been handled behind closed doors as opposed to Bonehart waving his appendage around just to prove that he's "The Man"? Yes. Even the Nascar types have somewhat rallied to Helio's bandwagon. Maybe Helio should switch to stock cars. I don't know. Don't really care if I watch the race Sunday. Who's Bonehart going to call out for a chicken---- infraction this race?

He should have been allowed to throw a few punches for that much money.

For that kind of money, he should get 5 minutes alone with Dumbhart, I'd chip in a few bucks to see that. Take Care Craig

So who gets to fine Indycar? We do Michael!!! When we stop watching this lame azz Spec Racing Series that promotes weak drivers and moronic officials making poor decisions, like Bonehart who needs to be fired....YESTERDAY!!! Frankly and honestly....Barnhart is a gutless turd for running and hiding in his trailer, now this....What a puke! Best to you! Russ

A careless USAC official manning the track lights in turn 1, failed to notice that Tony was given the green flag for his four lap qualifying run by the starter Pat Bedand. When Tony dove into Turn #1 at 225 mph, the fellow activated the yellow track lights! Everyone saw it. Tony dutifully lifted and coasted through Turns 1 and 2. Then the green light flashed on for good, and Tony ran hard until receiving the checkered flag at the end of four laps. His first lap, ruined by USAC's error, was only 160.8 mph. The second lap was 166.8, the third was 166.4, the fourth was 164.8 Incredibly, Harlan Fengler, the autocratic Chief Steward who ran everything at Indy, decided the yellow lap counted! So Tony became the only driver in the history of Indy to be Officially Qualified under a yellow light. Amid much controversy, and despite protest from sponsors and car owners alike, Fengler (who drove at Indy in 1923, and openly disliked road race drivers) insisted that Tony could not re-qualify the car. That's the way things were done in those days. Of course, the four lap average was dismal and would not stand. Taken alone, Tony's three good laps would have placed him solidly in the race starting beside Dan Gurney. The year....1970....somethings never change....I clipped this from Tony A2Z's website....almost as big a screw job than Helio's.

I think we should all send Helio $1. I'm sure there are more then 60,000 of us on his side. It sure would cheese of Barnhart to know Helios fans paid the fine! LOL

He should have been allowed to throw a few punches for that much money. That's funny. I can remember a few years ago in Drag Racing. John Force basically shoved a crew chief from another team. The NHRA fined Force $5,000. Shirley Muldowney later asked how much could she do to him for $10,000? Dave
