Hi.
I've been a member for a few weeks, and have been lurking for a few more weeks before that. I've spent that time reading everything relating to open wheel racing model cars, and trying to get my feet wet.
I'm a senior at 62 years of age who has just gotten back into plastic modeling after a 30 year layoff. My 1st go around at building models was basically as a military aircraft modeler who competed on the local, regional, and national level, and just got burnt out. Now I've decided to have another go at it, and this time model what I like, race cars; both open and closed wheel cars of the 60s through the 80s. I also have a passion for Porsche's (although my wife has refused to let me indulge myself with a real one).
I've started my 1st kit, a AMT 1989 Lola. My goal is simple. Finish the kit as a box stock model to the best of my limited abilities. And will post a WIP once I get the gloss paint on. I'm doing the Hardees '89 Lola as the kit has a Chevy engine.
I'm looking forward to a great association here, both in learning and sharing new ideas and concepts.
