Here I go again comparing 1 driver to another. In this instance its Ryan Hunter-Reay vs Adam Carroll.
I find it puzzling how Ryan had such a hard time securing funding while Adam Carroll seems to come out of nowhere to quickly secure funding for the rest of the season.
It seems Adams "stock" might be a bit higher than Ryan's at Andretti Motorsport.
Adam appears to be a great talent but so does Ryan. Any thoughts?

It all comes down to the bass-ackward practice of who brings the bigger suitcase full of money to the table. Forget talent, forget any kind of loyalty, it's all about who ponies up the larger amount of cash. I really find it irritating that a talented kid like Graham Rahal can't find a ride to save his life and that Hunter-Reay has had to jump through a million hoops to just finish out the season. Then there's this Carrol, who evidently had some backing from someone, who just hops a ride out of nowhere.

Having personally met him at Long Beach I can trully say that he has more talent than Caroll ever has. He was the only car that could stay with Will Power and what ended up happening, HE WON! Now just tell me what race has Adam Caroll won? THIS IS WRONG!!!!!!!!!

I actually think Caroll has loads of talent based on him being the series champion of A1GP. He did win that didn't he? That's a very tough series in my opinion.
I think racetrain63 makes a good point why they can't find the money for Rahal but they could for Caroll. Of course there is a lot of thing going on behind the scenes. Maybe Rahal doesn't like the Andretti team. Maybe there will be a seat at Ganassi for Rahal next year.

As to the "behind the scenes" theories... About a month ago, Pressdog did an interview with Graham about the problems he's been going through this year. The subject came up about he and his dad working together again and putting together some semblance of a full-time team. He wouldn't confirm or deny the possibility. He was rather upbeat about the idea though. I guess stay tuned for the further adventures of Adam Carroll on the next exciting episode of "As the Andretti's Turn"... No pun intended.

I've seen how tough that series is on speedtv, thanks for correcting me on that. I'm a tad frustrated on good american drivers Like Ryan and Graham not getting the top rides in indy car racing. They deserve it just as much as Adam Caroll does.

Until or unless we get affordable cars and engines, this is how business will be done. Talent counts for very little in Indycar racing, it is how much money a driver can bring to a team. I hate it, but except for the first few years of the IRL, that has been the problem with all big time racing for some time, and it is getting worse, not better. Sponsors call the shots. Take Care Craig
