Hello everyone! 'just joined this great site (I've been looking for something like this for a long time!). It seems my wish has been more than answered! I don't mean to ask a question that has probably been beaten to death...but can someone dirrect me to a thread that talks about what is currently going on with Carousel 1 ? I have been collecting their models since day one - and hope everthing is OK with them! Thanx, indygp2000

Hey chaparral2k, thanx for the fast response! - Wow! I kinda figured something was going down at C1. That thread you sent seems to tell it all. I was a huge fan of C1 because they built stuff knowbody else would (in die-cast). I usually picked them up when they went on sale - and the only one I missed out on that I should have got was the Grahm Hill STP Turbine car. I did get a couple of the Pollard cars - so I might do a conversion. Anyway, where in Wa. are you at? I'm in the Everett area... take care, Indygp2000

We'll have to hook up sometime...I have the Rutherford cars and all the AJ foyts that C1 did. A good friend of mine recently moved to Spokane - he has a huge diecast collection, and I'm sure he would love to hook up w/ someone in the area to shoot the latest! If you ever come to the Everet area, let me know...

There are others in the upper left corner. I visit this site often, just don't say much.

Patrick, mchriss, and Jordan, Thanx for the warm welcome! I love collecting the open wheelers! I started with plastic - the AMT Indy kits, etc... then the Carrousel 1s started coming out! I like to build and paint ( and especially love doing decals) but time is my big enemy! Still, when a new Tamiya F1 or Hasegawa comes out (like the new Lotus 79), I am like a kid on Christmas Eve! Of course, I also can't wait for the 2nd issue of the Minichamps 79's in 1/18! (I think Derek at Toronto Motorsports is still taking orders for those). Anyway - I try to get out to a major race about every 10 years: My first GP was at Long Beach in 81, where the hi-lite was meeting Mario, Didier Pironi, Patrese, Arnoux, etc..(I couldn't find Villeneueve anywhere - but saw him on the track). In '86 My wife and I moved to LB from N.M. and got to see Lil Al run Mario off the road for his first of many victories at LB in CART. Before we moved up to Seattle,I got to see the 1990 Phoenix GP- I can't believe I paid over 200 bucks for that race and people were walking in off the street for FREE! ( I soon forgot about the 200 bucks because I was in the presense of Mr. Sena for 3 days!) For the next approximate 10 years I got to see the Champ Cars run at Portland and Vancouver (I miss those races!) In 2000, I got to got to Tony "the Silver Spoon up his you know what" Indy F1 Inaugaral race to see Mikey Schoe and the boys...that was awesome....but it still was nothing compared to the race my Dad took me to at Indy in 1980! I'll never forget all the "SHOW US YOUR T#TS" signs up and down Georgeton Blvd! Rutherford won in his yellow Penzoil Chaparall ! and I was hooked on open wheelers forever! Happy Building and Collecting to all! PS Please come back Carrousel 1!

Welcome aboard! You can still find those cool signs here in Indy, you just have to know where to look!
