KV Racing has one had a lot of repair bills this year. How many more is Sato going to crash before he loses his ride?

As long as he's bringing the money in I doubt he will be dropped.
It's not like the old days when teams had sponsorship money up the ying yang. Now a days the driver brings the sponsorship and the cash.

As long as Team Lotus keeps sending the cash, Sato is going to have a ride. If talent and results counted, half of the drivers would be out of work. Take Care Craig

Okay, then maybe the correct question is how long is Lotus going to keep sending the money? They could throw Tracy in the car and the repair bill would be a lot lower and the results would be a lot better. I don't think Lotus is going to be quite as forgiving as Uncle Hugo/Citgo would be.

Sato has been crashing but doing better with each outing. He is starting to win me over but the jury is still out.

Why would Team Lotus want Paul Tracy in a car? Sato is their guy and has some international following, any following Paul has is mostly limited to Canada. Take Care Craig

Take Care Craig 1) Tracy would crash less than Sato (fewer extra checks to write) 2) The amount of time you see the Lotus on TV would likely be more with Tracy than Sato. 3) Higher probability of getting Tracy on the podium than Sato, in the short term anyway. 4) Higher North American following for Tracy than Sato. Obviously, Sato would have a big following in Japan. Maybe Lotus has some specific reason for Sato such as increasing brand awareness in Japan. Then there is China...Would Sato have a following in China? Maybe Lotus wants to sell more cars in China.

Stu I think it is debateable that Tracy would crash less than Sato. Tracy usually takes someone else out with him. I also think that the chance of either of them being on the podium is slim. As far as a "following" in North America, a large percentage of fans don't like Tracy at all. Jimmy Vassar is a Tracy fan, and would love to give him a full time ride. Can you see any big bucks sponsor wanting Paul Tracy to be a spokesman? Lotus sponsors that car to promote the F1 team. I think that worldwide Sato has a larger "following" than Tracy. Not looking to start a hassle with you, but that's the way I see it. Take Care Craig

Craig I have to agree with you Sato has a huge Worldwide following vs. Tracy's North Americans. Sato is finally setteling in the car as evident bt running as high as 3rd at Iowa before running into the marbles, that by the way some of the other favorites made the same mistake. In a lot of parts of the world Sato has attained Rock Star Status for his earnest efforts in F1... He is huge in England also.. I could care less about Tracy and his quasi-Bad Boy attitude... there is a deeper reason he doesnt have a permanant full time ride, remember he was on the Penske payroll until the Captain got tired of his crap and fixing wrecked cars.......Chris

Paul "The Wall" Tracy has a following...Well, like all garden snails and slugs, they due tend to leave a "slimy ooze" where they have been, I agree......

It looks like PT finished ahead of Sato this past weekend. Considering this was PT's first road course of the season and he was with a new team, I don't think he did too bad.
