I know several of these have been shown, but I put Hanks in the drivers seat... I was telling Russ the other night that a picture of this car in "Historic Racing Cars"(pub-1960) started it all for me in the 7th grade... This is a Jorgenson kit with Etzel driver. It is probably a little light because when I built it ,the reference I had said "cream yellow' in '57 and "yellow" in '58... [ The best story on this car is after he built it, George Salih tried to sell it. One guy even walked around it several times with checkbook in hand, but turned him down because it was "too radical." So he took it to Indy himself, and won back to back. The price had been $20K and he,Hanks and Jimmy Bryan split $200K+... Thanks for looking... Best to all, Tim

That looks fantastic!
Wasn't this the first laydown roadster? and the engine was laid over like 70 degrees? and the car was about 20inch tall at the cowl.

Hi Tim, Really nice work here. Still to this day one of the best looking Indy cars. Also, real nice Maserati too!
