I'll admit to when I'm wrong...and this is it. I didn't like the concept of the "new" Qualifying Day at Indy, but, after watching most of today's broadcast on Versus, it was pretty good. Much better than I thought it would be...typical results, but all in all, a good show. Sometimes, change is not so bad.
I felt sorry for Tony Kanaan though, his luck as been awful at Indy. Laughed at Danimut and Paul "The Wall" Tracy, they whine more than their cars do at speed. Also, after years of making "Foyt is fat jokes".....Jack Arute is huge!!!! His man boobs are bigger than Danimut's!
I didn't think I would enjoy today's broadcast at all, but I did! Lets hope for better things tomorrow!
Best to you all!

Yeah, all things considered, not bad at all. There was even a little more drama than I expected. My interest is gathering momentum. It looks like I'll be cheering for Tagliani, Rahal, and Carpenter.

It was ok.
I still don't care for the "Race for the Pole", seems stupid to me. Also, I can't understand why Helo would go out and try for "P1", knowing he would just have to requalify.
I was so wishing Tag would take Penske down a notch, but not to be, another Penske 1/2.

Back in the day it didn't matter where you pitted, you just wanted an open space ahead of you. These days pit 1 is critical. I was really hoping it would bit them in the (expletive deleted) - I really wanted to see Tag get Pit 1. But, that's why Penske has 15 Indy wins.

Well, it sure didn't help much with the crowds.
How many were there on Pole Day? 30,000? 40,000? The real indication is it's 1 week till race day and there is not one RV in the Coke Field. Although the track RV lot has a few in it.

Ahhh, the Coke field. That place used to be packed for pole day, usually the night before. Boy could I tell some stories . . .

Well, I have watched all th estuff I could find on th eTV for this year. I am not quite as enthused as I once was, but then spec racing has already killed a few series. I am not a fan of spec racing. All the Indy 500 has going for it is the history as far as I'm concerned. One chassis, one engine....... and the megabucks can control things to a large degree. I just think that if the tradition wasn't there, the INDY 500 would already be dead as far as interest is concerned.
