WIP...as raced in the '57 Pescara, Italy G.P. Fiotti Models 1/24th...somewhat inaccurate but close enough...doing a lot of mods on the suspension... A really great book "The Last Road Race" inspired this...I'm also working on Moss' Vanwall that won...

AH...this is what I've been waiting for. I love it so far. The rear tank rivet work really makes the Merit and Strombecker models suck. Is it the white car with the blue and yellow stripes? loved Jo as the debonair and cool driver with the goatee! Keep me up on this one!

Where do I get a set of the Scuderia Centro Sud decals? I have been looking for them for a "coon's age"!!!!! Mimo Dei's team was quite famoso in it's time.

Patrick: Fiotti Models is in Brazil; perhaps Alex can help. There are no spares on the small sheet that came with the kit. I agree; several of his Cooper Maserati's would be very cool... Tim PS: "a coon's age" I haven't heard that since my Dad passed!

Tim,
I use those old idioms in my classroom because of your very observation...they never heard of them! I just finished reading "Men and Mules" by Zora Neale Hurston and her book is filled with these crazy word associations! Love it.
I rented a car from Enterprise a few days ago and forgot to fill up the tank...the clerk pointed this out to me and sez I, " Oh, I ment to get petrol before I came." He laughed and asked where I was from as his friend from Fiji uses the word. I laughed, too and answered..."Oh, I just crazy...I think I left the torch under the bonnet!"

I can try wtih Fiotti if he has the decals, i remember when this kit was released and i have no money to buy (R$250 = US$ 125,00 at that time). We live in the same state (Minas Gerais) but far away one from other. Sometimes he shows his kits in a brazilian forum, "small-dreams.com/Forum", a very good brazilian site (only about cars). I liked the PE's wheels, and the resin quality looks good. Fiotti also is producing a 1/24 scale resin kit of the Puma, the most famous brazilian sport car with fiberglass body and VW ar cooled engine and chassis, he also build a special version of this car to give as a gift for Toninho da Matta, Christiano da Matta's father that raced a Puma in 1971 1000Kms de Brasilia. Will contatc Fiotti in this week. Cheers. Alex

A little further along...rear suspension detail... Front suspension...it even turns... Decided on decals (versus hand painted stripes)... An unusual scheme...done because he was Swedish... Thanks for looking...almost done! Tim

The figure really sets this one off. Do you sculpt the figures from scratch?
