Can anyone help with photos for Big Dan's F1 car( not his 1962 winner, but his 718 that he had a great fight with Baghetti's 156 ferrari!!). I'm working on a model or him to sign when I see him at the Laguna Classics. Assistance please?

Patrick, i have some photos, including the engine out from the chassis, but none that shows the chassis interior and cockpit, does it serves for you? The front suspension is torsion bars, but not lik the VW Beetle, two triangular arms, and the chassis is tubeframe. Dan Gurney won one GP with this car. Cheers. Alex

>:(I had this post done and then proceeded to clear out the post SO...here again the lost post... a disassembled Revell Speedster 356 glue bomb... front suspension attached... a simple frame... the 4 plug per bank engine... the wheels are the slot cas inserts for the Revell 1/25 BRM slot car body kit... Then I decided to do the re mastered body... I think I'll use a Fujimi 356 kit for this other car...

Patrick where did you get the body for this car? I would love to have one as I'm a huge Porsche nut. Nic

Alex,
I have an 804 body but am not ready for the build. Later I may need the help. Thanks.
Nic,
The 718 body is a somewhat rare Scuderia Scale 1/24 styrene slot car body.
Thanks,
Patrick

You're totally the king of scratch building. I dont know were the heck you find all of your motivation? To keep on going..... I start second guessing myself then I start to loose motivation.
But everything looks great!

Calvin,
Are you kidding me? Your recent yellow peril build is just awesome. I learn so much by watching you and the others do their builds that (as all good teachers do...) I steal any ideas and apply them to my builds. Besides I got to finish these because my Lovie said, "No more models until these are built!" OK, sez I and away I go.....

Well, the Testors silver spay can did not gice me satisfactory results and is going to get re painted. moving on to 718 #2 I did successfully paint it a nice national Dutch racing orange and put on Carl de Beaufort's team markings. I decided to use a full chassis for the open engine bay and that meant to cut open the rear (How do I get myself into these things...greed!). LOL! I used a Monogram Outlaw sprinter chassis (which actually looks very close), but now have to figure how to shoehorn the engine into it. When the weather turns again I'll repaint Dan's car and will proceed on it, but for now...Carl's car goes on.... Patrick

Simple old Testors Comp Orange. That right side of the decal just won't relax! Lots of MicroSol on that. Ideas?

Wow! That's nice. De Beaufort's 718 must have been one of the longest lived F1 cars in history.
