It'll be interesting watching you do this, you're the first that I've seen start this one.
Have you ran into any fitting issues with this kit?
looks good thus far.

For the most part, fit has been good. It's actually quite an easy kit. I should finish this weekend.
The two biggest issues I've found is that you have to clean out some plastic tabs inside the cockpit to fit the seat in if you're like me and want to cement the tub halves together and paint before inserting the seat (I know that's not an issue for you Calvin). Second the top element of the rear wing bows when placed between the wing endplates so I need to fix that. (The rear wing has the endplates affixed to the main element)
Personally this is not a car that I'm very fond of (apart from killing Senna, I was never a fan of the Rothman's paint scheme), so I'm just doing a no-frills out-of-box build, no extras. I've saved the seat belts that came with the kit to use in a car I like better (the seat belts in the photo are decals)

Not on this kit..... It just depends how the kit goes together since I clear coat my cars. But trust me I try to avoid painting with a brush. Painting the seat already instaled, what I ment to say.

Looks great Mike! It's always fun to see how people build and how they attack a project. I have been modeling for over thirty years and I'm still learning new things. Every time I've built a model, I've gone about it a little different each time.

WOW!! That's a beautiful tribute Michael. That was a sad day I didn't wake up early to watch it so my Dad came into my room and told me Senna was in a wreck and it was really bad. Found out later that day about fate. You make me want to build this kit Michael.... looks like I need to add something to the Indycals order I'm placing next week. How does the shock cover fit? It looks like it might have a slightly larger gap? That's a good looking motor in that kit - I wonder how long before someone puts it in that '95 Benetton kit ;D Jordan

Incredible model! I've got one of these on the way, and I'm thinking about back-dating it to 1993's FW15C version.

Is that a Tamiya Williams Model with Conversion Decals or is it the Fujimi 1/20 FW-16 Model. ?
Thanks Robby

Robby, Tamiya never made a 1/20 scale FW16, 99% sure it's a fujimi.

Building this with Indy Cal decals now. Should have taken your advice on the seat tabs. Thanks for your photo WIPs. Helps me a lot.
