Hi everyone. The screenname is StoneCold44 but my given name is Gregg. I live about 40 miles NW of Chicago and have used a version of my scren name for about 8 years, so I can't change it now. I've been building models most of my life but really got a bug to do Indy Cars after building (butchering?) an AMT kit of the Gatorade car from 1974. That thing must have 4 different coats of paint and went through many decals over the years. Luckily I found that same kit in the Indy Hall Of Fame collection and with the many aftermarket decals that are available, I'll put together some nice replicas. I also bought up a large inventory of kits from Trackside Models (from Wisconsin) in the early 90s and haven't touched most of them. I need to learn how to do modifications so I can change a car from one year to the next. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I got here from following a link from the Indycal website, so thanks Mike. It's so awesome to find a forum that has so much info and news about building Indy models. I'm looking forward to learning better ways to build and detail my models. I hope to post some pics of them soon. FYI, I was at the Indy 500 Sunday and sat across from Marco's pit so I had a great view of Danica's march to confront Briscoe. What a great moment! The whole section was going crazy.

Welcome!!! Trackside Models? Never heard of them - where they a retailer or a manufacturer? Jordan Thanks for the welcome. This might become my favorite site now. I'm guessing he was a retailer. To be honest, I met the guy outside of the Speedway after the 1989 race. He had a booth/trailer on 16th St and had his models on display. I took his business card and contacted him over the course of a few months. When he told me he was getting out of the business, he gave me a large discount if I bought the kits in case lots. Pretty sure he was from Neenah, Wisconsin.
