I'm Rob from San Diego. I knew that there had to be an open wheel modeling site somewhere, but it took me a while to find it. I built car models when I was a child and aircraft models as an adult. I recently decided to build some car models again. I have built models and followed motorsports for almost as long as I can remember. I am originally from Indiana and recall listening to the 500 on the radio long before it was televised. Is the TV broadcast blacked out in Indiana now? I am primarily interested in sports/F1/Indy cars from the 50s/60s/70s. I picked up some model car kits, but have only started one. The quality of the builds and the wealth of information on this site is most impressive.

Yes, the 500 is shown on tape delay here in Indy. It's a b**ch trying not to learn who won before the broadcast!

Welcome aboard! We have almost the same back ground. I have a few models on display at the Air & Space Museum at Balboa Park near you.
