I was watching my copy of the 92 500 & then they showed Guerrero's issue on the pace lap & the shot of his dissappointed wife. I was thinking, damn Roberto's wife is hot. I mean i've seen alot of wives in CART, F1, NASCAR, & NHRA etc but Guerrero's wife is the hottest I think I have ever seen. Honorable mention go's out to Teresa Earnhardt, Mike Skinners wife, Juan Montoya's wife, & Jeff Burton's wife Kim.

As I stated with my 88 Pocono 500 pictures, Roberto Guerrero is one of the nicest guys you ever want to meet. I can also say that goes for his wife. While we were at Pocono the first time, my wife and Katie Guerrero must've talked together for an hour. They hooked up each year there after that. Of course they would talk about family things which left me free to wonder around the pits and take pictures. The same thing goes for Bobby Rahal and his wife. Rahal's wife is pretty good lookin' too. They were very cordial to us. I would also add Rick and Chris Mears and Dick Simon and his wife to that list. That's why I liked Pocono so much, it was very laid back. You could talk with most of the drivers, owners and families.
Even though I never met his wife and say what you will about him Mr. Penske, the Captain himself, always took the time and had a kind word for fans. I don't know what the drivers are like today, because I haven't been to a race in about ten years, but I must say during the 70s, 80s and 90s most were true gentlemen, with good looking wives.

Jim Chris Mears and Katie Guerrero were very sweet, as is Kara Lazier. And if you ever had the pleasure to meet Rick Mears' parents that was always a treat. They could usually be found working the Mears Gang souvenier trailer. Rick's dad was still working it hours after Rick won his fourth Indy 500 and pretty much everyone had left the area.

Yes Mike, you are quite right. Rick's mom and dad were always cordial to us and always had nice things to say. We spent many a hour at the Mears' Gang trailer. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure to meet the Laziers', but I'm glad to hear that they are nice people too.
You can also add Scott and Leslie Goodyear to the list too.

Mika and Arie are both very pleasant people. They are reserved, but once they invite you into their circle, they are wonderful to be around. The bottom line is all these famous folks are people too and some are nicer than others.

I once sent a photo of my wife and Chris Mears together to Rick. I told him many people thought they were sisters when I showed them the photo. I got a hand written note back from Rick!!! You can imagine how that ranks among my favorite racing memories. Ditto on Katie and Roberto, awesome people.

Well, I'm showing my age, and my preferences......... ;D
She wasn't a wife of a driver, but she was (and still is) a great big part of racing!

Mongo, I was talking to Linda Vaughn 2 weeks ago, indeed a Sweetheart! A litlle rough for wear when you get close though.Al those years on the road have taken their tole..Sorry to put a mark on your fantasy. We met at the Oakland roadster show in 94 and the Cheezoom was on display but nobody wanted to approach her, I thought "What the Heck, she aint gonna call security" So we talked for about 20 minutes. Like I said a sweetheart!! Now everytime she see's me she stops and says Hi.

Chris & Mongo....
I have to agree with you both on Miss Linda Vaughn. During the numerous rain delays of 97, I was in the old media center at the Speedway talking with Legendary Motor Sports Writer & ARWBA Founder, Dusty Brandel. Dusty was the first woman writer to be at the Speedway in the 1960's. J.C. Agajainian got her a tabel outside the old Gasoline Alley so she could interview Parnelli Jones after he broke the 150mph barrier.
Dusty wanted to go on a "Greyhound Hunt". (For those of you that don't drink Greyhounds are Vodka and Grapefruit juice.) Dusty like younger male companionship on these hunts, she asked me to go with her and it was raining, so what the hell....Besides, the party starts when Dusty shows up!!
We went to every, and I mean every hospitality suite that was at the track that was functioning. We went to Jonathan Byrd's and ate great food! To Penskes's suite, the last place Dusty and I went to was Linda Vaughn's suite, where Dusty introduced me to Linda. Now, I had a photo of Linda on my bedroom wall that I dated for several years when I was a kid. Linda smothered me with a huge hug when I told her that, the fried chicken was great and the bar was open and the booze flowed freely. I sat there and spoke to Linda for quite sometime. I found her friendly, very nice and extremely intelligent. Now there is someone Versus should get to be a pit reporter!!! When I left Miss Vaughn's Suite, he gave me a huge hug and kiss and her latest calendar which is still hanging on my garage wall over my work bench.
In February of 98, Dick Wallen was having an kick-off for his latest book, "Roar of the 60's" at the Petersen Museum here in Los Angeles, to which I was invited to. Everyone that was anyone from Racing in Southern California was there! The event was catered by "In-N-Out" Hamburgers and I sat at a table with Chuck Hulce, Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby, James Garner and Al Unser Sr. The stories were flying around fast and furious....
I got up to take a few photos and who comes walking towards me but Dusty Brandel and Linda Vaughn, deep in conversation. So I walked by not want to interupt them, to only have Miss Linda Vaughn shout me down!!! "Russ Bundy, you get your butt over here and give me a big sloppy hug!!!' Now mind you, this was some six months after Indy and I had only met the lady once, one afternoon. Besides having a great rack, Linda has an awesome memory!!! She is a class act!!
Best to you!
Russ (Still a Linda Vaughn Fan!!!)

MONGO! We were discussing beauty not what's BIG! Patrick hi Patrick, Remember, I'm old......... back when I first met Miss Vaughn, she was a real beauty. Like all things, we age, but she is still a great looking lady. ;D And her *size* was just a nice addition to an otherwise beautiful lady. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".;D Some of the other Race Queens were not too shabby, either. I really ain't familiar with any of the driver's wives, so I can't put an opinion on which of those are *hot*, but I have seen Ashley Judd in person, and....... ;D Mongo
