AMEN!!!!!!!!!!! This is my Christmas!
I only have to ask one question...ABC did a great things by getting a class act like Eddie Cheever in the broadcasting booth and losing that phony Rusty Wallace. Why....WHY do they have to have Brent Mustburger to ruin their broadcast? He has done his best to ruin college football. I have a history with this nitwit and he is really clueless to what he's saying. ARGH!!!
Also, I hope we have a clean, safe race!
ENJOY!!!!!! Best to you all!

He is just the worst broadcaster and it's a good thing Indy is way bigger than he is. Agree that Cheever is a great addition to the booth. the way he was giving Goodyear the needle about passing the pace car in 1995 was priceless.

Musburger is painful to listen to and Rusty was difficult to tolerate - he just about killed the 2006 finish! This coming from a long time Penske/Rusty fan, too! Cheever's never been my cup of tea so personally he's just one step above Posey, Mussburger, and Wallace.
Good race and now I just need to see if I can get the software for my birthday that let's me burn TiVo recordings to DVD.... call me greedy but I can't wait to get a setup with HD so I can REALLY enjoy the 500!!

Jordan Let me know if you can't transfer the race to a DVD. I am in the process of doing that now. I am doing the two pre-race shows and then I'll burn the race. If it all goes well, I should be able to get it on one DVD. And it will be without commercials. I'll have to get 3 bags of peanuts to eat while I watch the race. That will take some editing although I'll probably let it run during some commercials since ABC went "side-by-side" alot.

The "Gas Man" was great...I agree! But what mental midget put Brent Musburger in the hosting duties? He's an idiot. I remember him one time calling a College Football game at Notre Dame and saying he was in Michigan....and Michigan wasn't even one of the teams! He's a cheerleader in the booth and I got sick of ABC fawning over Danica Patrick! I mean, she's cute and good, capable driver...but she isn't Parnelli Jones or A.J. Foyt for crying out load! By far, the best broadcasting team at Indy has been Sid Collins and Freddy Agabashian. I'm very lucky to have many of those broadcasts on audio tape. Jim McKay and Jackie Stewart were very good. Rusty Wallace was one of the worst! And let us not forget Paul Page playing referee in the both with Sam Posey and Bobby Unser. I wish I had a buck for every time Unser said, "No Sam, you're wrong" to only discover that Posey, while goofy was correct. I'll leave it at this.l....Of all of the former 500 Champions I have been lucky enough to meet and talk to, Bobby Unser is the most dislike by other drivers and owners...even his own brother Al doesn't have nice things to say about "Uncle Bobby." Best to you Russ

Russ, you've got to do it right if you're going to quote mushburger. It's "Mmmmmichigan." As in, "It's a beautiful day here in the Big House as the A-Train is really rollin' for the Wolverines of Mmmmmmichigan." He is the worst. Maybe ever.
