Bill Jorgensen Resin kit. A great big thanks to Bill J. for sending the white metal parts that were missing in the first shipment! Thanks to Russ, especially, for all the tips on the Watsons! Mongo

I scribed a line down the C/L of the hood and added .010 styrene for the hinge, made the bump on the left side of the hood, and added a scoop to the right side of the cowl. For the scoop, I sliced a small section of aluminum tubing at an angle, glued it to .010 styrene and then trimmed/filed it to shape . I carved the bump from a large piece of sprue.
The simulated fasteners are the Russ technique of drilling small holes. (I will use a size or two smaller bit next time, these look a bit too large for me! LOL!!). I deepened/made new parting lines with Crazy Modeler Photo Etched hand held saw blades, after first scribing them with the back of a scalpel blade tip..
Again, Bob Clidinst's Drawings are priceless!

Can't wait to see this one going to completion. I have one of these as well as a Hurtubise 1974 McLaren and Rutherford 1974/6 McLaren conversions on the way. Can't wait. I've always been happy with Bill's stuff. With a little elbow grease, they are wonderful little models. Nic

Thanks, guys. I am waiting for some decals (from a dear friend) which are superb, so I will take that time to polish a ton of *little white metal parts*! LOL!!
Fortunately, there is basically no trim painting to do, only decals.

Hi Bill,
The model looks great! I like to see the different cars that raced at Indy although I like my power in my rear! You poor man...you're stuck with dinosauritis. It seems to be incurable.

Lookin' good Mongo! I'm guessing the decals are Etzel's? Is this one going to the museum?

Fantastic looking build! Just one thing I noticed: on race day the roll bar was dayglo red. In b&w photos it is very hard to distinguish this as dayglo red photographs as light grey. Between the roll-bar and the nose this was the first Indy winner to use dayglo red.

Between the roll-bar and the nose this was the first Indy winner to use dayglo red. Thanks, Michael. I plan on touching up around the nose intakes and painting the roll bar. I didn't realize it was the first Indy car to use Dayglo red! Mongo
