So it is time for me to get into the First Annual Off-Season Build-O-Rama and here is my entry. I bought this glue bomb off of eBay for like $8-10 including shipping.
I figured that I had the decals, driver figure and spare wings to redo it on the cheap. I opened it to find the rear suspension had snapped which adds a new wrinkle. So, that will either take a pretty touchy fix or an important piece out of the parts box (if I can find a spare one). We will see - my main objective is to rebuild it better than the first build. A modest goal but I will be happy with just that. Not sure I'll fix the clamshell cockpit on this one - I will have to decide.
Really thinking that I will redo this one as Vasser's 1998 car again to make this a fair comparison. I would prefer to build a winner so that means either the configuration for Milwaukee or Fontana. The Fontana car would take some scratch building (which might bog down the project) and since Milwaukee can be done from the kit wings, I'm thinking that is the winner for this build. Though I'm starting to think that I will adjust the front wing a little to be more accurate ;D lol, I seem to have a brain malfunction that won't let me leave it close enough. It should help the car stand out to the careful observer from builds with a regular roadie config.
First order of business will be to break all the pieces apart and strip the painted pieces back to bare plastic as this will be a total restoration!
