How awesome is this??? That car is going to be a keeper.
Jordan and I had this conversation last year when I did Rick Mears 1987 March, with the big rear wing plates. He said rear wings were out of control and this Kraco car is proof positive.
Good luck with this build. I can't wait until it's finished. You're off to a great start and the wings look perfect. By the way, what kind of plastic are you using?

By the way, what kind of plastic are you using? .040 thick sheet styrene I use the stuff for everything I'm kinda questioning the two top foils, they dont seemed to be angled right...but Im goin' to leave it how it.

Here is a picture (from the Nostalgia thread at Track Forum) of Cogan's 86 March in profile; Seeing the bolt positions should give clues to where the wing elements should be and their angles:

Boesel's Duracell (Dick Simon Racing) is a 1986 Lola, so don't confuse the two! What a sled that Lola was and what a great car was the March. The next year, the two reversed roles!

Isn't that why the 86C was still the favorite March, even in 1987? Which to me is nice to be able to do multiple years with the Al Sr kit ;D
Thanks for the pic Steve, that illustrates how drastic of an angle they ran those rear wings back then!

The 1987 March was simply awful, would not turn at all and the 1988 was worse. The 1987 Lola was to them what the 1986 March was, both superb cars with a friendly sweet spot. Those two cars basically led to March's demise.

I just checked indy500.com and no it doesn't have a red stripe. So you're right Mike LOL But one week later there is red on the car at Milwaukee.

To red stripe or not to red stripe. That is the question. I'm glad it's you and not me making this executive decision. I'd just do what I thought was right. Although I shot that theory down last night with my WIP, didn't I? Whatever you decide is cool with me. I'm not that caught up in historical accuracy so long as the car looks good and fast.
Just one request. If you have the KMart Lola decals, do up an Andretti helmet with the red stripe from the kit decal set, and set it on the sidepod when it's done. That will be a nice touch.

To red stripe or not to red stripe. That is the question. Who knows, I dont know if I will bother, I mean the paint lines came out well. Its your model.... a 8800 would be easier. I Think I will just put Michael in the car! LOL Its time to do another driver in car model! I haven't done one of those since I put JR in my Chaparral 2k. ;D

Its your model.... a 8800 would be easier. Oh no you don't. You got me on this one and I'm gonna see it through. Besides, I think doing modifications on the Hardee's car will eventually make me a better builder. The car I started as the Hardee's car is going to be a Provimi Lola now. Actually, I'm kind of excited to use the new Provimi decals and I won't have to start a new kit for that one. As for the driver, you can still use that helmet decal from the KMart kit. The video was good and showed the Andretti helmet as Michael was getting out of the car. Let me know if you need that decal. I have plenty.

Take another look at the video. At the 3:37 mark, it looks like the tip of the roll bar is chrome or silver. Did you notice that?

Very nice and I love those weird and obscure wings.
Were you going to try and paint the red stripe? Why don't you buy a roll of the Red Pactra pin stripe tape?
