Ok here’s my contribution to the off season build. I started these about a month ago and If I’m lucky I might complete them during the off season. During the WIP I’ll put each under its own title. 1st up is the 1925 Duesenberg. This is Bill J’s repop of Chris Etzel’s kit. If you missed Chris’ version you have to get Bill’s. The casting is almost identical and the parts exact. The only big difference from the original is this kit has photo-etched wheels while the original had the SE Finecast wire wheels. The best part is that Bills price it the same as the original was 15 years ago when it was released. Try and find the original on EBay for that! Next up is the 1938 Indy 500 Winner. This is the old Front Motor kit made by Gary Douchette in the 90’s. I got his kit a few years back from Russ. The kit is almost impossible to find I’ve only seen a couple over the years. I did make a cast of the body before I started it just in case somebody decides they want to tackle this one in the future. The kits somewhat rough and is going to take a lot of work but it should make a pretty unique Indy winner. Finally, This is my own scratchbuilt 1941 Indy winner. Front Motor also made a kit of this car but I never been able to get one. So, resin, milliput, and plastic sheet together with a set of Bob Clindist drawing here is what I have so far. I probably have 20+ hours in this one already since everything has been from scratch.

VERY, VERY, VERY impressive!! ;D Especially all the scratch building on the last one Also, (I know this is a budget buster but I just wanted to share) I saw these the other day - a $60 wire wheel set for some of the Etzel cars. www.stradasportsstore.com/page8.htmlJordan

The same company that does the wire wheels is going to do a Miller FWD Packard Cable Spl. look on Strata Sports coming items. Haven't heard a price yet but it's going to have the wire wheels as part of the kit. Other decals may be available also. Walt

David,
All look great! Nice work on Bill's Dusenberg, makes me want to get one. Also, nice work on the 1938 and 41 winners. I can't wait to build both of those suckers as well....I have a reputation for liking front engine race cars.
Best to you!
Russ

Dr. Dave: Inspiring work! And yes, if you ever decide to make the '38 winner, count me in for a copy. The red/black paint scheme is beautiful. Tim

Found this build in multiple threads so I'm just combining them the best way I can without having a "join thread" command admin controls. Ok a little update: Not alot of work this weekend, I did get the front suspension added, shock levelers, and stearing box. I still need to add the compressers onto the leavelers. I added the pedals and the shifter as well as some work on the engine. As I said before Bill's kit is excellent. Get yourself one while you can! Very clean looking! Keep the pics coming Those older winners are really growing on me. There's something about those cars that I find fascinating and appealing, but I can't tell you what it is yet. David, Looks great so far. I'm sending an order to Bill next week for one of those bad boys! Best to you! Russ Great work, Dave. Some of us would really like to get Bill's stuff! Mongo

Dave, Beautiful work on these. I too would like the '38 and '41 winners when they are available. I've been wanting those two for a long time!!
