This to me looks like a lotus, but I'm not sure which version. I know it is not 38. Also, I am guessing the year is 1965 or thereabouts. If anyone has any more pics, I would love to see them. Nic

Hi ya Nic!
I may be able to help you with this one. Like you, I am too a HUGE Jim Hurtubise's fan. In his book, "Eddie Called Me Boos,", by Dick Sommers, (Now out of print, unfortunately)....Sommers was one of them men who sponsored Herk in 1964 and 65 on the USAC Trail. The chassis is a Shrike, like the one Sachs drove in 1964. It originally had a an Offy in it, but for Indy that year the D.V.S> Team got a Ford Four Can Engine loaned to them by FMCO, to only have Jim put the car into the turn 4 wall during the first day of qualifying, then Herk went over and drove for Grnatelli's STP Team, with the Tombstone Life Sponsorship. Get a copy of Karl Ludvigsen's, "Indy Cars of the 1960's" for better photos of the Shrike. I may post a few later. Best to you!
Russ

Thanks Russ! I managed to find a Lance Sellers 1971 Mallard. I'm hoping I can use it to help creat the 1967, 68, 69, and 70 Mallards as well. Lots of projects, so little time... Nic
